WF x The Crater Rim
Very few wineries could survive a devastating fire, several thousand earthquakes and live to tell the tale— but The Crater Rim has done just that!
On Saturday 13 June, cuddled by stacks of beautiful oak barrels, we gathered to share an afternoon of wine and an eclectic potluck lunch at The Crater Rim winery.
We were treated with a special wine tasting hosted by The Crater Rim's winemaker Haydon Good. Haydon took us through everything from a barrel fermented Sauvignon Blanc, their award-winning Pinot Noir, to a limited edition Orange wine.
The Crater Rim sources and selects small parcels of premium fruit from vineyards scattered across the Canterbury plains. Haydon’s winemaking approach is non-interventionist, which means the fruit is guided rather than directed through the process to produce some of the most expressive wines to come out of the Canterbury region.
